Lantau Island, Hong Kong
I will never forget the day I made the trek up there.
I remember seeing random, unleashed/uncollared dogs roaming the grounds on the island….my dad had told me that they were there to protect the monks who lived on the island from looters and thieves.
Sliced my finger open cutting potatoes.
Went to get a tetanus shot.
Fell face down a set of outdoor stairs on the way.
You couldn’t make this shit up seriously. 2014, the year of trauma.
Omfg there were so many people around and not even one person asked me if I was okay even though I clearly…
Hong Kong and Chinese people in general mind their own business. Always.
Has its ups and downs. Personally I’d trade that general attitude over the nosy people in the U.S. - and I’m born here.
